Here’s what’s new in beauty this April 2022
Gentle with minimalistic formulas, the new haircare products from The Ordinary promise to counter any fear mongering about sulphates and put all your concerns to rest. The “shampoo” cleanser employs SLES-2 as a milder anionic surfactant and foaming agent, giving you the satisfying lather and cleansing you need, while the “conditioner” is a creamy white emulsion that focuses solely on multi-functional behentrimonium chloride without the addition of ingredients that could potentially weigh your hair down.
Dr Barbara Sturm
Dr Barbara Sturm recently added The Better B Niacinamide Serum to her ever growing skincare empire. The cream-like textured serum reduces and refines the appearance of pores for a radiant and glowing complexion. It’s fit for those whose skincare concern is to correct dullness, the appearances of enlarged pores, uneven texture, and control excess oil on the skin.
The newest chapter for Hermès Beauty, the Plein Air collection is dedicated to natural complexions and letting the skin breathe. Fresh and light, the line comprises a natural enhancing complexion balm with added mineral sunscreen, a matte translucent finishing powder, a radiant illuminating powder, a powder brush and blotting papers. Functional, simple, fundamental.
For spring 2022, British beauty brand Chantecaille has partnered with the
Giraffe Conservation Foundation, which works in 16 African countries and impacts more than 40 million hectares of giraffe habitat. The collection includes an earth-toned eyeshadow palette quad inspired by the animal’s coats, a trio of neutral Lip Chic glossy lipsticks, and a soft shimmering powder blusher. The collection is available now at Chantecaille La Boutique, New Town Plaza and at select counters.
From Japanese make-up brand shu uemura, the new unlimited mopo lasting loose moisture powder promises to be the universal setting powder that works to set and lock the foundation and complete your complexion application, whatever your skin tone or type. Feather-light, it uses premium Japanese ingredients to effectively fix, smoothen and deliver a soft-focus filter effect.
Bloom Eua de Toilette is the newest scent from Gucci, a luminous interpretation of the original signature Bloom fragrance developed wholly under Alessandro Michele’s vision. Characterised by a trio of jasmine-bud
extract, tuberose and Rangoon creeper, the new EDT is lighter with a honeyed sweetness and a green citrus facet. It’s packed in the same soft pink frosted square bottle, with a new Toile de Jouy Herbarium House print of leaves, cherry branches and flowers.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Francis Kurkdjian first created OUD Satin Mood eau de parfum in 2016, inspired by one of the most precious ingredients in perfumery: Laotian oud wood. This month, meet the entire collection, created for your skin and home, and all featuring the fragrance’s woody and fl oral notes. New products include an extrait de parfum version of OUD Satin Mood, presented in a roll-on format, and a scented candle housed in a jar handmade from bisque porcelain. And the 200ml bottle will now feature
mashrabiya-inspired decor. The collection also includes an eau de parfum natural spray, a extrait de parfum natural spray, a hair mist, a body oil and a body cream — all scented.
The Chloé nomade Eau de Parfum Naturelle is thoroughly vegan, formulated with a 100 percent natural-origin fragrance, naturally derived alcohol and Water. Nothing else. Composed by the perfumer Caroline Dumur, the body is a gourmand jasmine — harvested responsibly in Egypt — with bursts of bergamot and base notes of vanilla and sandalwood. And it’s all put together in lower-impact packaging, both the glass bottle and the cardboard box.
IT Cosmetics has formulated not one but four new concentrated serums, co-developed and expertly formulated with the help of plastic surgeons and dermatologists. The Bye Bye serums target dullness with 15 percent pure vitamin C coupled with vitamin E, fi ne lines with 1.5 percent hyaluronic acid and peptides, pores with 10 percent glycolic acid, and dark spots with niacin-amide and ethyl vitamin C. All four serums are suitable for sensitive skin.
