Fashion week may be all about the clothes and accessories. But second to that are the makeup looks that will inspire beauty trends for the rest of the year. With the closing of London Fashion Week, we round up the best beauty looks that rocked the runways.
Simone Rocha Painterly Eyes
All eyes were focused on the painted eyes at Simone Rocha’s show. Makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver used lid balm to create the peeling paint look in black, vermillion and lavender foil.
Halpern Bejewelled Eyes
Makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench swapped makeup brushes and eyeshadows for wearable crystal embellishments for the beauty looks at Halpern’s show. Thin shards of the glistening gems were attached around the eye area for a star burst look.
Erdem Metallic Silver
Inspired by the socialites of the 1920s from Cecil Beaton’s upcoming exhibition, stylist Anthony Turner sent models in silver wigs down the Erdem runway. The flapper finger wave nodded to the decade, while the chromatic paint gave it a modern twist. Models sans wig wore metallic silver leaf makeup around the eyes.
Matty Bovan Electric Eyes
The makeup looks at Matty Bovan’s show is nothing short of bold. Vibrant wigs and exaggerated eye makeup in opaque white and two-toned electric pink/coral ombre created dimension. Lips were left nude to highlight the hair and eyes.
Preen by Thomas Bregazzi Gold Leaf Foiling
Models dazzled the catwalk in layers of gold leaf at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. Inspired by the renaissance era, makeup artist Sam Bryant covered foreheads, ears, neck and cheeks in shimmery gold to mirror the hyper-shiny statues of Virgin Mary.
