New month, new favourites! With a ton of new beauty launches on our radar, we got hard to work finding the ones that we liked best. Think of us as less beauty-advisor-following-you-around, more beauty-junkies-with-high-expectations.

October is also breast cancer awareness month which means a handful of brands will be doing their part in raising education for the cause and prevention of breast cancer. Take for example, The Estée Lauder Companies, with brands like Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Estée Lauder, La Mer and Origins, that will be selling Pink Ribbon merch or making donations to organisations around the world.

So if you’ve got something specific you’ve been hunting for (say a lipstick shade for fall) or simply want to pamper yourself on a cosy night in, give these products a go:

1
Estée Lauder Limited Edition Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II

What it does: The brand’s #1 repair serum is an overnight miracle. It’s great overall for waking up to supple skin, but especially so for targeting ageing skin — made of an exclusive technology called ChronoluxCB™ Technology.

The verdict: Once you go ANR, you never go back. Mature skin or not, the complexion is visibly much more radiant, youthful-looking, and soft. This limited edition cult favourite comes with a three-charm pink ribbon keychain.

2
Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF 40

What it does: This 3-in-1 contains a powerpack of ingredients meant to defend the skin against environmental stressors, prevent collagen damage and support its cellular energy. On the foundation front, ultrafine pigments cover imperfections without settling into fine lines.

The verdict: With this, you won’t have to pile on the skincare. And, it glides on like silk with a luminous finish. Goodbye melting makeup!

3
NARS Climax Mascara

What it does: Why climax? Because you should never fake it. The mascara has a full bodied brush exclusive to Nars and a creamy, lightweight formula in the darkest of blacks.

The verdict: It’s almost as if you’re molding your lashes into your ideal look with this buildable formula. They can be as volominous or as lengthy as you want, without ever clumping.

4
Lancôme Luxurious Absolue Soft Cream

What it does: It takes three to five tonnes of flower petals to collect just one drop of the Grand Rose extract oil, which when combined with nearly 140 active molecules, helps to even out the skin tone while targeting signs of ageing skin — crow’s feet, laugh lines; the whole shebang.

The verdict: It practically melts into your skin (in this case — the drier, the better) and envelopes it in silky comfort. But of course, the skin is much softer, and the cream works well for night use too if you prefer a lighter texture.

5
Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana

What it does: Make you smell like sweet, sweet honeysuckle. Jo Malone has got a thing for combining scents and this one in particular is said to pair well with the English Pear & Freesia Body & Hand Wash, as well as the Oud & Bergamot Body Crème.

The verdict: It’s your happy place in a bottle. That is, if your happy place isa garden filled with roses and davana sprinkled with honeysuckle.

6
Kiehl's Herbal-Infused Micellar Cleansing Water

What it does: Very, very gently, it cleanse the skin and removes makeup without rinsing. The 99.8% naturally derived ingredients in this formula includes lemon balm floral water and thyme essential oil.

The verdict: This 2-in-1 is perfect for sensitive skin! It even works when you’ve got heavy makeup on and you’re craving fresh, clean skin. All you need is a few sheets of cotton pads.

7
Smashbox Photo Finish Mattify Primer Stick

What it does: Keeps shiny skin a secret while also blurring large pores and other imperfections. Formulated without parabens, phthalates, oil, fragrance, talc and alcohol, it’s really does just that: mattify.

The verdict: You won’t need to drag it along your skin as it glides on pretty smoothly… blame it on the oily skin. You can use it just over your moisturiser for light coverage, over makeup before heading out, or for touchups during the day. And you can forget about blotting papers.
