As the cooler, slightly more hip, younger sibling to the Academy Awards, the Cannes Film Festival is currently captivating the film and fashion world. The red carpet has been rolled out and the teeming mob of tuxedo-clad paparazzi (even they have a dress code!) is out in full force to catch the stars in their gowns and glory.
But it’s not just a spectator sport of sartorial selections; the film festival has long been known for its illustrious line-up of films from around the world, providing a platform where the discovery of new talent and comebacks of more seasoned actors to former glory occur simultaneously. The 11-day-long event is currently underway – and we’ve been stalking our favourite celebs. Check out our highlights, the red carpet splashes and the significant snafus below.

At Cannes, 82 women linked arms in silent protest on the red carpet to let the global audience know that it isn’t just the film industry but women across the board who have had to face mistreatment and harassment.
Émouvant, historique, 82 femmes de tous les métiers et pays de cinéma viennent d’ouvrir la Montée des marches de LES FILLES DU SOLEIL d’Eva Husson. #Cannes2018 #Competition . Moving, historic, 82 women from all countries and professions in cinema have just made the red carpet entrance for LES FILLES DU SOLEIL (GIRLS OF THE SUN) by Eva Husson. . . . #cannes71 #festivaldecannes #82femmes #women
