There’s a new Pace coming to town. And that would be Jaguar‘s new compact performance SUV, the E-Pace.
Joining the ranks of Brit car marque’s Pace family of SUVs, which includes the award-winning F-Pace and all-electric I-Pace Concept, the E-Pace is ready to wow the global automotive scene come July 13. Expect to be blown away by its sports car-esque all-wheel-drive technology, an all-Ingenium line-up of petrol and diesel engines and a suite of connected technology and safety features. Once launched, the E-Pace, to be positioned below the F-Pace, will compete with the likes of the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Range Rover Evoque Mercedes-Benz GLA.
With its design, according to a teaser image by the brand, it seems the E-Pace will look fairly similar to its elder sibling, with certain sporty stylings reminiscent of the F-Type.
Says Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, of the new car: “The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character.”
To date, Jaguar’s first-ever SUV, the F-Pace, which has since won a number of accolades including 2017 World Car of the Year, has contributed to the brand’s increase in sales of 83% last year. The I-Pace concept was first unveiled in November 2016 and is expected to go into production some time in 2018.
As for now, we can’t wait to see the E-Pace in the flesh.
