Pegged to be bigger and more accessible, the 2017 edition of the much anticipated Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie watch fair will take place from 16 to 20 January 2017 at Palexpo in Geneva.
Making its return to the prestigious fair is Girard-Perregaux, who decamped in 2013 to present at Baselworld. The brand will make its comeback next year and will be joined by Ulysse Nardin, another watchmaking brand that belongs to the Kering group. These two brands join the other watchmaking Maisons like A.Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Greubel Forsey, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Panerai, Parmigiani, Piaget, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Van Cleef & Arpels and Vacheron Constantin.
Another five watchmakers, Grönefeld, MCT–Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps, Ressence, RJ-Romain Jerome and Speake-Marin, will join the artisan-creators and independent workshops such as Christophe Claret, De Bethune, H. Moser & Cie, Hautlence, HYT, Kari Voutilainen, Laurent Ferrier, MB&F and Urwerk, that exhibited at the newly created “Carré des Horlogers” space this year. This brings the total number of exhibitors to a grand 30 — a record for the SIHH.
Originally a private event open only to distribution professionals and the media, the watch fair will now welcome the general public for one day. Lovers of fine watchmaking will be able visit the SIHH 2017 on its final day on Friday, 20 January.
