For R&R: Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong

It’s been an exhausting time for all, and what we could all use a bit more of is a little TLC. When it comes to self-care, Mandarin Oriental does all the hard work while you luxuriate in a cocoon of comfort. Mandarin Spa’s new Imperial Jade treatment melts your stresses away with age-old Chinese methods using the healing and detoxifying properties of jade. The precious gemstone has been long associated with purity, grace and longevity.

Indulge in 75-minute hot jade stone massage using the hotel’s premium oil blends – and that’s just the half of it. Refresh with a 45-minute cooling jade roller facial that will stimulate blood circulation, promote lymphatic drainage, and lift and firm. The perfect way to unwind over a weekend staycation, Imperial Jade will leave you feeling rested and energised to conquer the week ahead.

For Michelin-starred Dining: Island Shangri-La Hong Kong

We’re all familiar with the fine dining scene, but it’s rare to experience Michelin-starred dining in your own room. Kick off your shoes and treat your inner gourmand with signature dishes from Restaurant Petrus or Summer Palace during your stay at Island Shangri-La. A bit like stepping through a time machine, the hotel brings back a warm sense of nostalgia as things are exactly the way they’ve always been.

What has changed though, is the modern contemporary fare served at Petrus. We sampled a three-course dinner by Executive Chef Uwe Oponcensky; starting off with home smoked salmon with caviar, followed by beef with mushroom and cauliflower puree, and completed with a sweet finish of Black Forest cake and cherries. Guests can also opt for the same in-room dining experience with Cantonese restaurant, Summer Palace. What’s more, access the Horizon Club throughout the day where you can delight in drinks and nibbles as you take in the view.
