Kaye Dong
Born and raised in Australia, entrepreneur and philanthropist Kaye Dong now helms three businesses: design firm The Good Studio, wellness platform The New Moon and non-profit initiative K for Kids Foundation. The Good Studio was founded in 2010, and handles multi-disciplinary design projects, from the award-winning sustainable revitalisation at Phvlo Hatch to a monastery and peace sanctuary in Nepal. Launched in 2020, The New Moon is a combination of online retail boutique and editorial outfit, exploring modern wellness and spirituality through an urban, design- driven lens. K for Kids
Foundation was created in 2015 to offer support to children who live in the foster-care system, seeking to elevate their personal and educational development. Despite the many hats she wears, Dong has even grander plans: to build a collection of contemporary wellness retreats across Southeast Asia, and to further support vulnerable children by building a school with boarding facilities to enable holistic, well- rounded education and life experiences
SUPERPOWER
Moved by a news article about a child of drug addicts who died while waiting to enter the overcrowded foster-care system, Dong immediately signed up to become a foster mother, and has cared for six children since 2016. She was recently appointed to the board of Mother’s Choice, enabling her to touch more lives in the system.
