Laura Offe

Founder of the Meraki Hospitality Group, which opened the Brazilian street-food restaurants Uma Nota in Hong Kong and Paris, as well as the Middle Eastern Bedu in Hong Kong, Laura Offe was inspired to pursue a career in hospitality by her father. Aged 22, Offe played a part in the opening of The Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong and, later, the Shangri-La The Shard in London. Today she’s committed to making her restaurants sustainable and is pledging 1 percent of revenues towards promoting regenerative farming in Hong Kong. In 2020, the Meraki Hospitality group partnered with Zero Foodprint Asia to adopt sustainable strategies in sourcing ingredients. On a personal level, she plans to overcome the challenges of IVF and adoption for same-sex couples, and start a family.

Offe regards giving back to the community and using her businesses to promote progressive ideals as a duty. Her Hong Kong establishments source their produce from the organic Hung Yat Aqua Farm. By 2022, Offe aims to evaluate carbon emissions from her restaurants and implement carbon-neutral plans through waste reduction and composting strategies.
