Yvonne Lui

Yvonne Lui

A leading environmental and cultural philanthropist, Yvonne Lui is a long-standing board member of the global Conservation International, as well as the founder of the Yvonne Lui Trust. She set up the Lui-Walton Innovators Fellowship with Walmart’s Rob Walton, bringing together around 75 world leaders and scientists (including the UN’s Christiana Figueres and the presidents of Kiribati and Iceland) to create sustainable environmental solutions. The trust, meanwhile, helps CI fund marine biodiversity and water health projects locally and in Greater China, as well as championing climate-change awareness. An avid lover of art, dance and culture, Lui is vice president of the organising committee of the Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition. She also supports the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, sponsoring ballet performances and cultural trips for the underprivileged.

In addition to her philanthropic endeavours, Lui took up ultra-running during Covid, moving from debutant to 100km runs within months. In January, she’s instigating a new trail-running race, with a vision of funding the prizes directly from her trust, so that that all additional fundraising and sign-up fees go directly to the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry.
