Proving to be surprisingly one of the faster months of the year, July has — for lack of a better phrase — flown by. A part of this could be attributed to how packed the month has been, events-wise. With an abundance of happenings popping up on a near-daily basis, we have had no shortage of options regarding what to do in Bangkok, and this week is no different.

From a talk with the brains behind Soho Hospitality — responsible for the likes of Above Eleven, Havana Social and Brasserie Cordonnier, among a series of other renowned hotels — to a hamburger making workshop for kids and Daniel Caesar’s live concert in Bangkok, there is a lot to look forward to in the city this week. Scroll to see what’s in store!

PEOPLE & EVENTS — For those looking to take the productive route this week, here’s an event to catch. As part of The Experience Series, Rohit Sachdev, founder and CEO of SOHO Hospitality, will be giving a talk at The Hive. Drawing from his own experiences — portfolio-wise, think names like Above Eleven and Havana Social, along with renowned hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments throughout the country — he will be covering topics that range from ‘How to Bounce Back When Your Business Collapses’, to ‘Secrets of Interior Design’. Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur looking to make it big in Bangkok, a passionate chef with plans of opening your own venue, or simply a creative individual in search of inspiration, this is something you don’t want to miss.

NEWS & EVENTS — On the list of kid-friendly events this week, we have a fun workshop that teaches kids how to make delicious — and nutritious! — mini hamburgers. Founders of edible play, chefs Metiga and Nuttapon, will be running a workshop on how to make child-sized burgers. Participating little ones will learn how to form their own patties out of pork, beef or veggies, as well as how to grill the burger patties and customise their own burger with various additional toppings. The class is specifically created for children aged between three to nine years old, accompanied by one parent. Conducted in English with Thai support, the workshop is ideal for English-speaking youngsters, though not suitable for those with gluten, egg, and wheat allergies.

ART & CULTURE — A photography exhibition featuring two prominent names in the industry, Two Realities looks at the different ways in which we can read and show what exists. On the one hand you have Noah Shahar, whose work focuses on people, and tries to extract their inner world in order to trace the elements of their history. On the other hand, you have breathtaking panoramic views and landscapes by Khun Hans, who makes nature itself the focus of his work — even in images with limited space, the human figure is but a small, minor, fleeting presence.

10am-10pm, until July 24, 2019. RCB Photography’s Gallery, River City Bangkok. To find out more, visit the official Facebook event page
