What To Expect at the Met Gala 2019
The long-awaited fashion fundraising event in New York, Met Gala, will be held on May 6, 2019. One of the most fashionable events always takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York every year. Last year, it was themed “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. This year, Met Gala will have “Camp: Notes on Fashion” as its theme. It is based on Journalist and women’s Activist Susan Sontag’s famous essay in 1964, “Notes on ‘Camp'”. The essay describes the love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration. Met Costume Institute will exhibit various extravagant dresses in history. Expect to see fashion pieces from Off-White, Schiaparelli, Moschino, Dior, Thom Browne, and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to name a few.
Lady Gaga and Harry Styles will co-host this year’s Met Gala. As Gucci will sponsor the event, Alessandro Michele, the Creative Director of Gucci, will bring along a female tennis icon and muse, Serena Williams. Top Hollywood actors and actresses who are expected to show up on the red carpet are Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively with her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Bradley Cooper. Meanwhile, this year’s committee is Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, Miuccia Prada, Pierpaolo Piccioli, and Clare Waight Keller.

Wanda House of Jewels’ Charity Event with Happy Hearts Indonesia Called ‘Shoes for NTT’ and Brandon Tanu’s “Bully Aja, I Don’t Care!” Book Launch
Last September 2018, Wanda House of Jewels successfully raised money for rebuilding an elementary school in Roe village by donating all the proceeds of its 20 specially designed Happy Hearts necklaces to Happy Hearts Indonesia, a foundation which aims to rebuild schools all around Indonesia. This year, Wanda House of Jewels has returned to hold another charity by collecting as many shoes for children in NTT through “Shoes for NTT” program and announced it on April 5, at La Moda Cafe, Plaza Indonesia. “I am very grateful, that the 20 diamond necklaces were quickly sold out. It was very touching to know that all the buyers and contributors came from all over Indonesia, and some of them are my followers [in Instagram],” says Jewellery Designer Wanda Ponika, who is the Founder of Wanda House of Jewels.
Wanda Ponika and Sylvia, the CEO of Happy Hearts Indonesia, were moved to give the children in NTT decent shoes to wear when they go to school. They travelled more than 5 km just to reach the school. Wanda Ponika and Happy Hearts Indonesia are teaming up with Buccheri, to produce the special collection. By donating Rp 100,000, one pair of shoes will be provided for one child in NTT.
The fundraising event continues with a book launch of “Bully Aja, I Don’t Care!”, written by Wanda Ponika’s son, Brandon Tanu. The book was inspired by Brandon Tanu’s experience in facing bullying, his journey fighting against it with Motivator James Gwee, and continuous love and support which were given by her mother.

Trophée Chopard always becomes an emotional prize for youth talents in the international cinema. As the official partner of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, which will begin on May 14, 2019, Chopard has been showing their support on cinema respectively from 2001 until 2018 by giving appreciation to the Laureates that have become recognised actors and actresses. One of them is the famous actress, Diane Kruger, who won the award in 2003 and also crowned as the Best Actress in Cannes in 2017. Other young Laureates who also received the Trophée Chopard are Jeremy Irvine, Shailene Woodley, and Logan Lerman. Dior Maison x Dimore Studio Previewed Their Highly Exclusive Furniture Collection In Milan
Dior Maison has finally unveiled 14 exclusive creations from their newest collection designed by Dimore Studio at the Salone del Mobile in Milan also known as the 2019 Milan Furniture Fair. Dimore Studio is an architecture and interior design studio specializing in furniture design, lighting and textiles founded in Milan in 2003 by the Italian-American duo Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran. The collection, spanning vases, trays, a candelabra, a lighter and an ashtray, place-settings, frames, and an umbrella stand, were first previewed from April 9-11 at the beautiful Casa Degli Atellani in Milan.
Dimore Studio’s unique contemporary signature blends in the collection which revisits Monsieur Dior’s passion for the 18th century. Using a variation of metals from gold, silver to bronze, the collection leads the guests into five rooms, from the library to the bedroom. The precious objects were highly exclusive as they are available only by a special order with a one-year waiting period.
