They say, good things come to those who wait. And at the house of Hermès, this always rings true. A case in point is the reopening of its flagship store on May 19 that had 850 special guests in attendance. Just for the event, Axel Dumas, CEO and sixth-generation Hermès family member, flew in to join the celebrations where he gave a short speech on a stage that had been constructed right outside the store’s entrance. Immediately after his address, attention was drawn to the statue of a man on a horseback that had been installed on the corner of the Hermès’ roof, which was later lit up by a display of fireworks. Guests were then invited to explore the new store — which now includes an extra level — and then enjoy a private party on level seven of Liat Towers, where the open-air car park was transformed into a dreamy party space, complete with lounge chairs under a sky of moving projections.
