Lawyer and fashion enthusiast
What characteristics does one need to be rich and fabulous?
The ability to have friends from all walks of life.
Your idea of perfect happiness?
Cooking a meal and presenting it as a grand production to my loved ones at home, then watching their faces as they enjoy. Yes, that is perfect happiness.
Your greatest fear?
I dare not say because it was such a spur-of-the-moment spend!
My two boys. They are immensely sensible and grounded in all their ways, with a genuine kindness and empathy for people.
Most treasured possession?
A stack of handwritten letters that my father wrote to me when I was studying in UK. These letters came faithfully every month by airmail in the glorious days before Whatsapp or email. They always contained exhortations from him to work hard as well as reminders that I was very much loved.
Bags or shoes?
Shoes. If my feet are unhappy, all of me will be unhappy.
If you could wear only one label, which would it be?
Chanel, always. My first work jacket was a Chanel and even when I wear it now, it hardly looks out of place.
What do you most value in your friends?
Loyalty and steadfastness.
What motto do you live by?
Loyalty and steadfastness too!
Who is a real-life hero?
My good friend Joni Ong. She has five children, runs two successful businesses in completely disparate fields, sits on numerous boards and charities yet has time to serve in church. She remains true to her friends and cooks the most awesome meals!
What do you like most about your appearance?
It’s a little obscure mole on my cheek!
The quality you most like in a man?
I like tall men — maybe it’s a Darwinian response!
The quality you most like in a woman?
Directness and honesty.
Who would you like to bring to the Prestige Ball?
Son Ye Jin, one of the most famous Korean actresses, because she is so elegant and beautiful.
Someone stepped on your gown. What do you do?
Usually I just say: “Oops you are truly stepping on my tail now” and we all just laugh it off.
If you could change one thing in the world?
To have a cooler climate for Singapore, perhaps to one that is closer to Hong Kong.
