After made a rather big breaking news in Paris Fashion Week 2018, almost two months ago, Kim Jones breaks the news again by officially appointed by LVMH as the Artistic Director of Dior Homme for the Ready-to-Wear and Accessory collections. Congratulations are in order, even though the news is rather just “seconds away” from the departure of Kris Van Assche.
The former men’s artistic director at Louis Vuitton, Jones, is delighted to join the house of Dior. “I am deeply honored to join the house of Dior, a symbol of the ultimate elegance. I would like to warmly thank Bernard Arnault and Pietro Beccari for their trust in giving me this incredible opportunity. I am committed to create a modern and innovative male silhouette built upon the unique legacy of the House,ˮ he says.

Pietro Beccari, chairman and chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture who also just joined the brand in November, is the one who made the decisions for these shuffles. “I am delighted to welcome Kim Jones at Dior Homme. He will benefit from the support of the teams and from the ‘savoir-faire’ of the Ateliers to create an elegant men’s wardrobe both classic and anchored in contemporary culture. I am confident that he will continue to further develop Dior Homme on a global scale,ˮ says Beccari in his official statement.
Kim Jones is said to start from April 1. What happened to his previous position in Louis Vuitton? It is still vacant and waiting for the rumors of whether Virgil Abloh, the American designer behind the Off-White label, will take over his position will ever be confirmed.
