After leaving Dior Homme as creative director of Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche has officially appointed as the artistic director of Berluti. CEO of the house Antoine Arnault declares, “I am delighted to welcome Van Assche to Berluti. I have known him for several years, have always admired his work at Dior Homme and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Meanwhile the newly appointed creative director says, “I have always wanted to build bridges between the savoir-faire, the heritage of a house and my clear-cut contemporary vision. Antoine Arnault spoke to me of his ambitions for Berluti and it is with great pleasure that I accept this new challenge which fits perfectly with my own will and vision. I would also like to thank Mr Bernard Arnault for his renewed confidence.” For his first collection, it will be presented during Paris men’s fashion week in January 2019.
It has been widely rumoured that Van Assche would stay in LVMH, and it’s true. After more than a decade as Dior Homme’s creative director, his position was soon being filled with Kim Jones. The positions of creative or artistic directors are continuously changing in major menswear fashion house. Namely Virgil Abloh who is replacing Kim Jones in Louis Vuitton, and Hedi Slimane who become Celine’s artistic, creative, and image director, also presents its first men’s wear line in September.
