And Then There Were Two. The Dream Wedding initiative reaches its most decisive milestone as the lucky couple to be wed has been selected
Earlier this year in August, we ran a story about the Dream Wedding initiative, which was initiated by Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta and Time International together with Prestige Indonesia to gift a special couple their literal dream wedding. What truly makes this program special, however, is that it is dedicated to healthcare workers and medical professionals.
Even during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it became clear that doctors, nurses and healthcare workers in general would take the brunt of the crisis. And many of these heroes fighting on the frontlines would eventually put their lives on hold. It goes without saying that this includes many cancelled wedding plans. This is where the Dream Wedding project comes in: A small gesture of thanks for the healthcare professionals doing their best to keep us safe.
To ensure that this Dream Wedding lives up to its name, the project’s initiators and vendors have pulled out all the stops. Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta will, obviously, provide the venue. Time International, meanwhile, will arrange for various details. These include the couple’s wedding rings and bride’s jewellery which will be provided Cartier, along with the groom’s attire from Ermenegildo Zegna. Speaking of the bride, she will walk down the aisle in a dress by Hian Tjen and Hosana Textile. Nefi Décor will make sure that the wedding venue looks spectacular, with the help of Lumens which will provide the lighting setup. Kenisha Wedding Organizer, meanwhile, will handle the actual proceedings during the big day and The Leonardi Photography will ensure that the wedding is properly documented for posterity. Actually, they will also ensure that the bride and groom have a similarly amazing pre-wedding photoshoot. Of course, no wedding would be complete without a majestic cake – provided, in this case, by Le Novelle Cake – and music to dance to – featuring Andi Rianto and team. And as the cherry on top, the day’s events will be directed and hosted by the one and only Daniel Mananta.
Registration opened in mid-August, and soon, submissions started pouring in. These were then reviewed by a jury panel consisting of Yonatan Kachko (General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta), Shannon Hartono (Vice President of Time International), Ronald Liem (Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Prestige Indonesia), Fenny Palijama and Vijay Manghnani (founder of Kenisha Wedding Organizer) and Nefianto Setiono (founder of Nefi Décor).
Finally, on November 18, the Dream Wedding jury convened at the Presidential Suite of Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta to choose a winner. So, ladies and gentlemen, meet our dream bride and groom, Yohana Trisya Anggraeni and Wisvici Yosua Samin.
“Our first meeting was when we were actually dealing with someone else’s problems, and the second one was to discuss about a scholarship program,” Yohana, a general practitioner, recalls in their video submission. One thing led to another, and the two eventually ended up working in the same hospital after Vici finished his paediatric residency training in Jogjakarta. Like many of their colleagues, however, they had to cancel so many of their plans – including an intimate wedding in Bali – which was further exacerbated by the couple’s stressful work environment. Then they found out about the Dream Wedding initiative. And then they won.
Yohana and Vici’s daily battles with the pandemic already made them heroes in the eyes of many. But then during Prestige’s chat with the couple after the winner’s announcement, we learned just how big their capacity for caring really is. “Actually, I don’t really share about my personal life on social media because I don’t want people seeing and judging,” Vici tells us. “But for this competition, I saw that it might be inspiring for others. I think both of our stories may move people and may inspire people. So, instead of only competing we also felt this spirit of sharing. We want to share our lives in the hopes that it might help or inspire others.”
Of course, for now, our winning couple will start preparations towards their big day, while still juggling their busy schedules. What they are truly looking forward to, as Vici puts it: “Our families gathered for the celebrations and then it should be a new beginning for us. With the blessing, of course.”
Prestige meanwhile, looks forward to welcome the couple to a live chat on our Instagram account in the month of December. We will also document preparations for their wedding which will take place around March or April of next year. Most of all, we look forward to celebrating a story of love between two of our nation’s healthcare heroes.
