President Commissioner at PT. Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk
Feisal Hamka, President Commissioner at PT. Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk — a company that constructs, operates, and manages highways systems — shares that his success comes from his parents’ teachings. “My parents always told me to conserve and be patient. Big is not always strong, but strong will, for sure, become big,” he reflects. “Because life is like riding a wild tiger. You have to ride it until it dies, or you’ll get eaten. I learned that in investing. You don’t invest on the idea, but invest in the founder. Ideas are cheap, execution is what gets the job done.”
Speaking about jobs, he also notes about his hope regarding how to boost the economy during these uncertain times. “I hope we can all come up with a solution on how to boost the economy in Indonesia. We need to start on appreciating our own local sources, support small businesses, and be proud of our own products,” says Hamka. “The government also needs to continue building infrastructure to lower logistic costs. No one should take advantage of a crisis. We need to start to fight as one. We are one, and this is our country.”
Today, Hamka focuses on staying positive all the time by keeping himself busy, pivoting from one strategy to another. “I feel that even though everything is uncertain now, I’m still trying to do whatever it takes to focus on reaching my goals,” he shares in closing.
