NATHALIA GUNAWAN

Nathalia Gunawan is the 38-year-old entrepreneur behind One Fifteenth Coffee, an artisanal coffee shop chain with five outlets in Jakarta and Bali. Having grown up in a strong coffee culture in Australia, the Purdue University Civil Engineering graduate started the business with her family in 2011, then partnered up with Morph Coffee in the same year.

“I was always interested in starting an F&B business,” Nathalia says. “Launching a new brand was exciting, and our first shop opened many doors for us – from friendships to collaborations and partnerships. I think the ability to trust people and to act on our vision are vital qualities for an entrepreneur. I have always looked up to my father. He’s a man of integrity with a ‘can do’ attitude. He finds solutions to any problem. I learn so much also from the people that I work with, including our coffee suppliers, our roasters and our great chef.”
