Gofar Hilman is no stranger to the entertainment industry. The musician and radio broadcaster is probably best known for hit YouTube series #NGOBAM. More importantly, though, he is also the founder of Lawless, a clothing store that evolved into a motorcycle workshop and has now expanded into F&B.
His rebellious rock ‘n’ roll attitude came from his days of playing in a rock band, which, in turn, also jumpstarted his dive into business. As Gofar and his band friends couldn’t find places to play their music, they eventually made their own. This is the origin of Lawless Burger.
“It came from us thinking how are we going to make our idealism profitable. Let’s face it: We all need money, it’s the very reason why we started our business. Then again, we want to be always true to our community, that’s why we called it Lawless.” New branches and a collaboration with Lucy in The Sky is currently in the works. In the future, Gofar also hopes to open a venue for musical gigs in Jakarta.
