The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has been touted as a “flagship device that pushes the boundaries of what a smartphone can do” and we like the sound of that. To move with the times, the new S21 Ultra becomes the turning point in the Galaxy S series’ journey of putting high-end smartphones and tabs on the market since 2009.
With the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the mobile experience is elevated to a whole new level of clarity and creativity. Let’s get into the first impressions of the S21 Ultra in Phantom Black (which by the way is the most amazing black we’ve ever seen on a phone).
The S21 Ultra looks exceptionally sleek and almost statuesque, like it has been fashioned from a single metal sheet wrapped gracefully around the inner workings of the phone. The fluid composition is magnified by the all-new Contour Cut Camera design that blends seamlessly into the device’s metal frame. The phone is curvy around the edges and smooth to the touch. The matte finishing on the back, major plus. Overall, it’s a fine piece of arm candy.
Contrary to the curvaceous exterior, the phone is as hardy as it gets. Strengthened with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™, it is said to be the toughest Gorilla Glass yet and can withstand a drop of up to two metres. It also boasts an improved scratch resistance and that means one thing, the phone will be in a pristine condition over an extended time.
iPhone users (like yours truly) will definitely be blown away by the quad camera lenses mounted on the rear of the S21 Ultra. The four lenses comprise a standard zoom, an ultrawide lens, a 3x optical zoom and a 10x optical zoom; and this power of four will help you take photos that are sharper and have richer hues, be it up close or from a distance. Can you imagine how the videos would look like?
The 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display makes this device the largest in the Galaxy 21 series and it also comes with Samsung’s most intelligent screen so far, delivering the most vivid and bright images for satisfying viewing pleasure. We learned that the phone is equipped with Eye Comfort Shield to help reduce eye fatigue and we can’t wait to put it to the test.

We are liking what we see so far and with Samsung’s most advanced pro-grade camera system and its brightest, most intelligent display; we’re looking forward to doing the following with this device:
- Take beautiful photos and create more photo books
- Shoot beautiful videos for social media
- Have a better Zoom (or Teams) meeting experience
- Watch Netflix!
According to TM Roh – President and Head of Mobile Communications Business of Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is another example of how Samsung is driving meaningful innovation forward to give people personalised experiences that enrich their lives and empower them to express who they are. “Given how indispensable technology has been to our lives during these times, we wanted to take another leap forward and push the boundaries of what a smartphone can do,” he adds.
