Following the success of its first cross-category sale in May, auction house Phillips will present a further edition of it this autumn. Titled Intersect, the exclusive online sale features an enticing selection of contemporary art, watches and jewellery.
Open for bidding on September 2, Intersect will be an online-only auction of more than 110 lots, including works by established and in-demand artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring and Yayoi Kusama, along with cutting-edge contemporary artists such as Mr., Daniel Arsham, Josh Sperling and Izumi Kato. The sale also offers elegant watches by Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and IWC alongside edgy timepieces from MB&F and Urwerk. In addition, colourful jewels created by renowned jewellery houses such as Graff, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels will also be offered.
“Our inaugural cross-category online auction Refresh:Reload held in May provided us with a unique opportunity to engage with a broader scope of collectors with diverse interests. With a 90 per cent sell through rate and an increase of 56 per cent in participants who are new to Phillips, the sale achieved great success and set the highest ever online sale result in Phillips’ history,” said Delissa Handoko, the company’s head of online sales in Hong Kong. “Intersect marks another step forward as we continue to invest in digital initiatives that expand buying opportunities for the growing number of new and existing clients who bid online.”

Highlights from Intersect include American contemporary artist Kaws’ Tension, a portfolio of 10 screen prints in colour to appear at auction for the very first time, as well as a complete set of nine works from Daniel Arsham’s acclaimed Future Relics series. Other notable artworks include an edition of Banksy’s iconic Girl with Balloon and a large canvas by Josh Sperling. As for bling-lovers, fear not – an array of other watches, clocks, rings, bracelets and necklaces from some of the most sought-after watchmakers and jewellers are also available for bidding.

Intersect opens for bidding at 12am HKT on September 2 and closes at 6pm HKT on September 14. The entire sale will be available to browse on Phillips.com.
