On this note, the brand’s new collections offer a range of styles and designs to suit every taste and occasion, making it easy to find the perfect watch for yourself or as a gift for a loved one. Among Patek Philippe’s new collections, arguably the most feminine timepieces would be the Ref. 7118/1300R Nautilus Joaillerie and the Ref. 7968/300R Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph.
Ref. 7118/1300R Nautilus Joaillerie
The Genevan manufacturer recently introduced the Ref. 7118/1300R Nautilus Joaillerie, a new jewellery interpretation from the iconic design of the ladies’ Nautilus. This time around, the timepiece comes in rose gold and is elegantly and uniquely combined with the brilliance of spessartites — gemstones belonging to the garnet family — and featuring various warm, luminous shades in a “cognac” to “champagne” colour gradient.
Adding a touch of luxury, an array of 68 baguette-cut spessartites (2.04 ct) forming a double colour gradient from the aforementioned “cognac” tones at 12 and 6 o’clock to “champagne” colour at 9 and 3 o’clock, are set within the octagonal bezel’s softened angles.
Moreover, the rose-gold dial with the “waves” pattern typical of ladies’ Nautilus models is finished off by eleven ogival-shaped cognac-colored spessartite hour markers (0.34 ct) that stand out against it, while the brown lacquered varnished rose gold alpha-style hands also enhance the legibility of the dial.
Housed in a 35.2mm-diameter case, the watch is completed with the integrated rose gold bracelet, and the self-winding 324 S C calibre powering the watch beneath the lovely dial, which is visible through a transparent sapphire case back.
In the end, this new stunning timepiece joins the ladies’ Nautilus self-winding models with brilliant-cut diamond-set bezels: Ref. 7118/1200R-001 (with silvery opaline dial) and Ref. 7118/1200R-010 (with rose-gilt opaline dial).
Ref. 7968/300R Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph
Patek Philippe also unveiled the Ref. 7968/300R Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph, which is the first self-winding chronograph for women joins the Aquanaut Luce collection in a joaillerie version. Design-wise, it’s safe to say that all of Patek Philippe’s artistic talent and jewellery-making know-how went into adorning this rose gold timepiece with priceless details.
For instance, a double row of baguette-cut diamonds is set utilizing the “invisible setting” technique to embellish the octagonal bezel. The best part is, a flawless gradient is achieved by carefully choosing 40 baguette-cut sapphires (2.31 ct) in the outside row and 40 white baguette-cut diamonds (2.05 ct) in the inner row.
More impressively, the white mother-of-pearl dial features the signature Aquanaut design and is adorned with 12 rose gold hour markers set with baguette-cut sapphires (0.31ct) in a gradient that matches the bezel.
The rose gold hour and minute hands as well as applied numerals, along with the polished and satin finishes on the 39.9mm-diameter case and chronograph pushers, surely highlight its architectural design.
Of course, there are plenty of other fine details for the connoisseur to appreciate, from the central chronograph hand that can be used as a running seconds hand, the flyback function that enables the instantaneous starting of a new timekeeping operation while the chronograph is already running, to the aesthetically-pleasing self-winding caliber CH 28-520 visible through the transparent sapphire case back.
All in all, whether it’s the Ref. 7118/1300R Nautilus Joaillerie or Ref. 7968/300R Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph, these Patek Philippe timepieces are a gift that will be treasured and appreciated for years to come, and one that will always be a special part of the recipient’s personal history and memories.
