From May 8 to 19, the 71st Cannes Film Festival was held with the opening film, “Everybody Knows”, starring Pénelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. The film has become the second Spanish-language film to open Cannes, following Pedro Almodovar’s “Bad Education” in 2004. This year, actress Cate Blanchett becomes the head of the jury. She was followed by other three women and five men, from seven nationalities and seven continents, including filmmakers Ava DuVernay and Denis Villeneuve, actress Kristen Stewart, Léa Seydoux, Chinese actor Chang Chen, French director Robert Guédiguian, Burundian singer Khadja Nin and Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev.
The festival may be over, but the magnificent red carpet looks are still well-remembered. The new “barely-bare” trend is catching on and more stunning entrances that we couldn’t help to admire. Here are the top 10 best-dressed celebrities in Cannes you should take notes on:
1. NATURALLY GLAMOROUS: Tony Garrn in Roberto Cavalli couture
The high-slit, lean silhouette and on-point heart lines are making it a winner look. Simple, sexy, elegant all at the same time. On top of it, she nailed it with the slicked-back hair.
2. RED QUEEN: Julianne Moore in custom-made Givenchy Haute Couture designed by Clare Waight Keller
With red colour, it becomes more challenging to nail the look on the red carpet. But not with this one. Julianne Moore has shined through and we can see how the cape makes her look like the queen! She’s always one of the best-dressed celebrities in Cannes!
3. PRETTY BALLERINA: Léa Seydoux in Louis Vuitton
Flattering and empowering. It may look simple, but in a closer look, the simplicity can’t fool the immaculate sequinned details that complement the see-through dress. With its barely pink colour, who can resist the cool charm of the wearer?
4. ETHEREAL VIBE: Cindy Bruna in Ashi Studio
Embroidered details which the threads are intentionally made to loosen up at the end, has created that feathery effect. It couldn’t be more astonishing. Not putting her in the ‘best-dressed celebrities in Cannes’ list would be a mistake.
5. BUTTERFLY EFFECT: Cate Blanchett in Mary Katrantzou
Leading by example! Obviously, Cate has totally nailed the dress and shows how to have fun with red carpet looks! Clean cut at the upper part, a bit practical yet very unique for red carpet dresses. Cate is always one of the best-dressed celebrities in Cannes or wherever she goes!
6. ANGELIC MOVE: Kendall Jenner in Schiaparelli Haute Couture
Bare it all in a tasteful way. With Schiaparelli’s sophistication and Kendall Jenner’s charm, the two have met their match for championing Canne’s naked-dress trend.
7. SPRING AWAY: Amber Heard in Valentino
Fresh looking Amber was seen super comfortable with a plunging neckline dress! Big prints are making it a grandeur look, and we simply love it.
8. TODAY’S GODDESS: Naomi Campbell in custom Poiret
A touch of edge in a dress has always been admirable. Most notably when Naomi Campbell wears one. It’s undeniably a head-turner, and obviously, she knows how to rock the look.
9. STATUESQUE POSE: Hailey Baldwin in Roberto Cavalli couture
Posing as a true model, Hailey Baldwin rocks the skintight dress. Dyeing her hair pink is also a great factor to contrasting the natural palette.
10. FLAUNT IT UP: Alessandra Ambrosio in Zuhair Murad
Zuhair Murad’s dresses are known to be very romantic, unforgivingly skintight sexy, and dreamed upon. With her great posture and figure, notes on the trending off-shoulder neckline. She is easily one of our favorites in the best-dressed celebrities in Cannes!
