The Venice Film Festival has been on full swing for over a week now, probably the only red carpet occasion where limousines are exchanged for water taxis. The festival is the oldest of its kind, first took place in 1932. Together with Cannes Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival, Venice makes the “Big Three”.
This year’s cinematic highlights include George Clooney’s directorial effort Suburbicon, which stars Matt Damon and Julianne Moore. His Venice movie premiere also marks Clooney and Amal’s first public appearance after the birth of their twins. Also highly-anticipated are Guillermo del Toro’s fantasy drama The Shape of Water, and Mother!, a Darren Aronofsky psychological drama starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Just as exciting is guessing what the stars would wear to the red carpets. Below, 10 of our favourite red carpet looks from the 74th Venice Film Festival so far.
