A very unfortunate news for the fashion world has been reported by the French news site called Pure People on Tuesday, February 19 – the iconic Fashion Designer Karl Lagerfeld has passed away. A black day for the world of fashion indeed, Lagerfeld was already reported ill for weeks at his last show of Chanel for the resort 2019 collection in Paris.
At the last Chanel Couture 2019 show with a theme of The Villa Chanel, Director of the Creative Studio of the house, Virginie Viard was asked by Lagerfeld to represent him. “Mr. Lagerfeld, artistic director of Chanel, who was feeling tired, asked Virginie Viard, director of the creative studio of the house, to represent him,” said in the statement by Chanel.
Karl Lagerfeld as the Creative Director of Chanel, had always produced at least eight collections a year. Aside from Chanel, he also became a Co-Designer of Fendi along with Silvia Venturini Fendi for 51 years. He also created an eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld, which comprises menswear and womenswear collections.
Born in Hamburg, September 10, 1933, Karl Otto Lagerfeld was a Creative Director, Artist, Photographer, and Caricaturist. To this second, the cause of his death is still unknown.
