“Once upon a time, there lived an artisan in a high tower, bestowed with the magic to create the world’s most desired shoes. The shoemaker wanted only to share his gift with the women and men of Louboutin World, but first he would be challenged to create a style so magical, so inventive, it would bring the light back to a kingdom.”
This is not just another bedtime story, but a heartfelt story that Christian Louboutin himself creates. Inspired by his own journey as a shoemaker, he writes “The Tale of the Shoemaker and the Stolen Stars”, a visual fairy tale debuting worldwide today.
It is a natural progression for Louboutin to write his own fairy tale, since the designer has always had a soft spot for it. In 2014, he worked with Angelina Jolie to design made-to-measure pairs inspired by her role as Maleficent. In 2012, he unveiled a dreamy Cinderella slipper design, in collaboration with Disney.
The unveiling of Louboutin’s fairy tale also highlights two products from the designer’s SS17 collection: the Gravitanita pump and flats, embellished with a mix of star studs and strass, and the ShoePeaks, a unique minaudiere inspired by the So Kate shoes.
