Delvaux’s impeccable craftsmanship and focus on blending the historic with the modern comes to the fore with the recently released Miniatures Belgitude collection. The label’s signature Brilliant style has been reborn in the form of seven micro handbags. Each version pays homage to a Belgian city – Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Knokke-le-Zout, Liège, Namur and Ostend – with unique prints and designs representing a different aspect of the country’s culture. While they may be scaled down in size, the quality of finish remains impeccable, a testament to Delvaux’s commitment to luxury.
Hong Kong’s Landmark has been selected to host a unique exhibition of the luxurious line, which runs on September 13-18, when visitors can explore quintessentially Belgian pursuits.
Accompanying the collection is a series of video snapshots, specially created by Belgian talent Jaco van Dormael. There is one for each Miniature: seven short films for seven bags, each one telling an irreverent story filled with humour, beauty and poetry. Watch them here, and be sure to visit the Landmark exhibit to pick your favourite from the line. Each style is made in limited numbers, so you’ll have to be quick when they appear in selected Delvaux boutiques later in September.
