The British label crafts its signature bags in canvas for the warmer season.
To create the new bag lineup, Burberry’s chief creative officer Ricardo Tisci looked within the fashion house’s archives for inspiration. Here, he found a soft luggage style bag complete with leather details, and decked out in the signature Burberry check, or windowpane check. The bags were sold from 1981 to 1990 and was known as the “Michelle Shopper”.

From this discovery, Tisci designed the latest addition to the collection — Pocket Bag — which was unveiled on the Burberry Spring/Summer 2020 runway. Crafted from premium canvas with contrasting topstitched leather, the chic utilitarian tote features a front pocket that bears a stamped logo graphic. You can slip it over your shoulders, or carry it by the sculptural top handles with the shoulder strap swinging or detached.
The combination of equestrian and military influences refers to the house’s heritage, and draws memories of the former logo of the knight on horse.]

Available for pre-order in mini and medium sizes for HK$9,300 and HK$12,800 respectively, the Pocket Bag is shaping up to be Burberry’s next signature style, as it returns in Pre-Fall 2020 offerings in new colourways and prints.
Other canvas bag highlights from the collection include the equestrian-inspired Peggy bucket bag which features contrast leather edges and a detachable zip pouch that is ideal for small essentials, as well as the saddle-inspired Anne bag which displays the Thomas Burberry Monogram closure.
