Drawing inspiration from its Fall/Winter 2020/21 ready-to-wear runway show and leather pieces, the essential elements of Chanel has now been reinterpreted in the brand’s Winter 2020 eyewear collection.
As an undeniably essential element in Chanel’s stylistic vocabulary, one that has been reinterpreted in every collection of the house, leather is now at the heart of the brand’s Winter 2020 eyewear collection and reflects this season’s creations with its eternal modernity.
The first chapter of the collection draws inspiration from Chanel’s emblematic chain interlaced with leather. Presented in matte black, brown, pale gold or ruthenium and adorned with double C links, the collection highlights a pair of round metal sunglasses and a square aviator shape in acetate. The thin ribbon of black, burgundy, khaki, or chocolate-coloured leather is woven by hand in a meticulous gesture, borrowed from the leather-making savoir faire of the maison. This detail also embellishes a round and a butterfly frame, both in two-tone designs, completed with blue-light blocking lenses.
For the second line of this collection, leather swathes the temples of three pairs of sunglasses – a double-bridged aviator with masculine/feminine accents, a slender rectangular shape, and cat-eye in acetate – as well as two opticals with a minimalist spirit. In black, brown, navy blue, or khaki, each time the leather matches the colour of the frame with understated elegance.
