The newest bag from Dior, the Caro bag, is part of the maison’s Cruise 2021 collection.
Designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the new Dior Caro bag is part of the maison‘s Cruise 2021 collection. The name of the bag has quite an interesting history to it. Essentially, Dior’s Caro Bag is a tribute to Christian Dior’s sister, Catherine – who was known affectionately as “Caro”. Design wise, the Dior Caro bag is clad in the iconic caning motif.
Adorned with the emblematic cannage motif, this latest object of desire from Dior is available in two sizes, and in timeless shades such as black, gray, beige and ivory. Not just that, it also comes in enchanting hues, borrowing intensity from red and softness from sky blue, mint green and compass rose. The small version is also available in three exclusive models: shearling, raw denim and the hypnotic Tie & Dior seen on Dior’s runway shows.
Made by the maison’s ateliers in Italy, the sleek, chain strap bag requires 18,000 stitches to form the iconic Cannage stitching. The bag also features a flap with an antique gold-finish metal twist CD clasp, inspired by the seal of a Christian Dior perfume bottle. The Dior Caro bag is adjustable, can be carried by hand, worn over the shoulder or even crossbody for a more casual look.
