The creative director lends his voice to the fight against racism.
More and more people have come out in support of the fight against racism and racial brutality via social media by sharing ways in which to help the movement’s agenda. And one of those is none other than Lanvin’s creative director Bruno Sialelli. In a statement published on Instagram, Sialelli shared a heartfelt message about human equality.
“Our mission is to create beauty and dream, through fashion. This mission can seem secondary when such important societal changes happen,” Sialelli explained. “It is then our duty to listen to those voices. This fundamental movement is mandatory to humanity. Fashion can only be respectful and has to step back for some time giving these voices all the space they need. At Lanvin, we stand for human equality for all and against all forms of discrimination, racism and oppression. There are natural values that need to be raised and claimed.”
In addition, like so many people around the world that have been shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of George Floyd, Sialelli also posted a black background on his personal Instagram account as a way of supporting the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
