See the Spring 2020 Michael Kors collection first on Prestige as it goes live from New York at 9 PM Jakarta time.
In anticipation of the show, Michael Kors also will showcase his latest mini documentary called “Michael Kors: A Portrait,” which offers a glimpse into Michael’s extraordinary career. In this new video, directed by Grammy-nominated director Alison Chernick, Michael talks about his origins, his design philosophy, favorite fashion moments and more.
“I am here to make people feel their best self,” says Michael in the film. “It’s a gift that you get to love what you do and get to create things that excite you and be around people that inspire you.”
The film touches on the many milestones that led Michael to where he is today. From redesigning his mother’s wedding dress at five years old to arriving in New York City during the Studio 54 era as a teenager and, later, heading his own fashion house and serving as the Creative Director of Céline—it’s the story of a remarkable life and an iconic brand.
Concluding the film with his trademark optimism, Michael says, “Fashion people should smile more because they’re lucky. It’s the greatest joy in the world. Smile!”
“Michael Kors: A Portrait” will premiere on 5 September 2019, on the Michael Kors YouTube channel via the YouTube Premieres feature, which allows fans to chat and watch new videos together. For 24 hours, the film will be available exclusively on YouTube before launching on other platforms.
