When Wes Anderson directs, it is almost a given that Adrien Brody acts. Brody previously acted in The Darjeeling Limited (2007) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), as well as voiced the Field Mouse in the animated movie Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009). This Christmas, the two has worked together to make H&M’s holiday movie, Come Together.
The short film is nothing short of heartwarming, with Brody acting as a conductor on a holiday train trip. Alas, snowstorm halts the train, delaying passengers (including a very cute little boy) from meeting their loved ones in time for Christmas. Brody and co. to the rescue, they set up a Christmas celebration on board.
“With all that’s happening in the world right now, sometimes we do need a hug from a stranger,” Brody says.
When Anderson is sitting on the director’s seat, one can be sure that the end result would be a treat for the eyes. His staple vintage boy scout green colours most of the train interior, while his penchant for symmetry is a visual joy for the OCDs.
The movie pays attention to sweet, little details such as photographs of the near and dear that passengers carry with them. In the background, “Little Drummer Boy” and John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War is Over)” are playing.
