One of the world’s most prestigious watchmaker-jewellers, Piaget recently launched a new series of watches and high jewellery in a wondrous ode to the desert — the Golden Oasis Collection. Boasting three distinct lines in plush gold and lavish gemstone details, the selection harnesses the artisanal craftsmanship and visionary imagination for which the brand is known for.
Vast skies above rolling deserts inspire the Play of Lights line. The Golden Hour set is particularly remarkable, as it captures the beauty of the ephemeral moment just after sunrise or before sunset. Besides a watch, pair of earrings and a ring, the set comprises a necklace in platinum and 18k yellow gold, featuring a rare 6.63 carats, fancy vivid yellow diamond — the piece is a virtual recreation of a sparkling sun that took 450 hours of spectacular craftsmanship to create.
The Desert Minerals line is a tribute to our planet’s sun-soaked rocks and crystal pools. It is rich with blue sapphires, precious diamonds and the finest mother of pearls. The Blue Waterfall set is created in a way that it replicates a flowing cascade and reveals the dynamic nature of water. The watch in this series is engraved with Palace Décor, a signature technique of Piaget, bringing to mind jagged lagoon rocks. And the 18k white gold necklace boasts a 14.61-carat, cushion-cut blue sapphire sourced from Madagascar.
The Native Bloom selection draws inspiration from the desert flora that scramble to grow despite adversities while the Luxuriant Oasis set illustrates a haven of peace and offers a contrasting sense of tranquility against the arid desert. Marquise-cut emeralds resembling dancing leaves in the wind have been delicately put together with a single, pear-shaped, brilliant-cut diamond of 3.01 carats to echo the winding river shores. The Vegetal Laces ear cuff in the set is an 18k white-gold masterpiece with a 1.45-carats, pear-shaped emerald from Colombia.
