Meghan Markle – or Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex, to use her full title – has bagged the top spot on best-dressed lists around the world with her polished yet effortless sense of style (here at Prestige, we also applaud the former Suits actress’s understated make-up looks and experimental hairstyles over the last couple of months). Now, we’ve rounded up her four finest style moments to date.
Over the weekend, Markle channelled the elegant style of her late mother-in-law at the wedding of (Princess Diana’s niece) Celia McCorquodale and Mr George Woodhouse. On this occasion, she opted for a loose-fitting floral dress from Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2019 line. Markle paired the summery look with a white fascinator, a box clutch and bespoke cut-out stilettos from Aquazzura for a look that had us buzzing.
For her first official day of engagements with Her Majesty The Queen, the Duchess chose to wear a beautifully pared-back custom-made Haute Couture outfit by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. So, it only makes sense that the all-black accessories – a buckle belt, pumps and a leather bag – were also by Givenchy. (The British designer, who is currently based in Paris, also dreamed up Markle’s wedding dress.)
Meghan looked the epitome of chic as she arrived at The Queen’s 92nd birthday concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London earlier this year. Here, she is pictured with her Prince wearing Stella McCartney’s cape-sleeve dress in midnight blue. The knee-length piece features a modest crew neckline and a hidden zip for a look that’s equally high-fashion and totally effortless.
For the ANZAC Day Commemorations at Westminster Abbey last April, the Duchess chose a bespoke two-piece ensemble – a cropped jacket and a matching high-waist skirt – by New Zealand-born designer, Emilia Wickstead. She topped off her look with a fashionable Philip Treacy beret and a Jimmy Choo box clutch. Ladylike, timeless and an instant hit.
