First conceived in the mid-1970s as a quartz- powered chronometer watch, Girard-Perregaux’s Laureato only bore mechanical movements from the mid-1990s onwards. Fast forward to 2016, on the occasion of the brand’s 225th anniversary, tribute was paid to the first mechanically driven Laureato with the relaunch of the limited-edition Laureato Automatic in a 41mm case with a GP03300 self-winding movement.

The newfound attention on the Laureato takes on a whole different level this year with the introduction of a full-fledged collection. Almost 30 references are presented for men and women, in both automatic and quartz movements. There is also a new tourbillon watch featuring the emblematic arrow-shaped Gold Bridge. The watches are available in four case sizes (made of steel, gold, bi-coloured steel and gold or featuring titanium elements) with some variants adorned with diamonds. They are distinguished by their polished octagonal bezels, integrated cases, supple H-shaped linked metal bracelets and Clou de Paris patterned dials.

Top of the line is the Laureato Tourbillon, with a 45mm titanium and gold case protecting the self-winding GP09510 calibre that features a micro-rotor and a tourbillon escapement replete with the recognisable arrow-shaped bridge.

Exclusively designed for men is the Laureato 42mm, available in different dial colour and case material variants. It is powered by the GP01800 movement, an automatic movement with hours, minutes, central seconds and date.

Designed for both men and women in mind, the Laureato 38mm runs on the same GP03300 self-winding movement as the model from 2016. Offered with dials in three colours, there is the option of diamond-set bezels for an added touch of opulence.

Lastly, the brand has reserved the elegant Laureato 34mm for ladies. Presented in steel, gold or a combination of both, it has a bezel decorated by 56 diamonds that are variedly sized according to their positions on the watch.
