“Nostalgia” is the keyword for many womenswear trends of the season. The industry seems to be longing for simpler times, with clear-cut silhouettes and less details. Utilitarian workwear makes a big comeback, while matching stripes are worn in a fuss-free way.
On casual days, retro swimsuits might be the next big thing, worn with outerwear or loose bottom to make them a beach-to-city piece. Solid colours, especially fuchsia and yellow, are a big hit on and off the runways.
Fashion also takes cues from the past with floral patterns influenced by the 70s’ hippies, as
well as slogan t-shirts that are enjoying their moment. We say the latter could not be timelier, now that women need to speak up for themselves even more than before.
