When it comes to diamonds watches, here’s what we love so far.
Diamonds are a woman’s best friend. Or so the saying goes. On that note, we shifted through all the newest creations in the world of jewellery watches. And there are plenty of novelties that capture our hearts with stunning diamonds and myriad of bright colours. Among those there is even a unique design featuring a dial fitted with rare and precious black opal. And now, here are the diamond watches that speak to us:
Hermès’ Arceau Harnais Français
Hermès’ Arceau Harnais Français definitely steals the spotlight this year with its stunning dial. For one, it depicts a pair of splendidly harnessed horses that echoes the central element of the “Harnais Français Remix” silk scarf, which was originally designed by Hugo Grygkar, the maison’s prolific in-house designer from the 1940s to 1959. To top it off, the watch is also set with 82 diamonds framing an engraved and hand-painted porcelain dial. Produced in a limited and numbered series of 24 pieces, Hermès’ Arceau Harnais Français remix limited edition magnificently highlights the expertise and creativity of Hermès Horloger.
Bvlgari’s Divas’ Dream Minute Repeater Malachite
Bvlgari continues to push the limits of form and function in the latest models of the Divas’ Dream collection. The Roman brand, in particular, brings its jeweller’s touch to the grand tradition of complicated watchmaking in the new Divas’ Dream Minute Repeater Malachite. This particular watch dares to combine one of the brand’s most recognized motifs – the Diva fan-shape – with an extraordinary mechanical movement to create the thinnest ladies’ minute repeater to date. Finally, the watch is finished with diamond pavé and a green malachite dial that captures the essence of Bvlgari’s precious and exuberant style.
Breguet’s Marine Haute Joaillerie 9509 Poseidonia
Through the art of mother-of-pearl marquetry and invisible setting, Breguet depicts Posidonia oceanica – an aquatic plant essential to the sea’s balance – on the new Marine Haute Joaillerie 9509 Poseidonia. Set with 85 baguette-cut diamonds, the dial appears to ripple across the intense iridescence of Tahitian mother-of-pearl, which appears deeply coloured or silvery depending on the light. The setting continues on the bezel, case-band, lugs of the strap and also the clasp of the buckle. Needless to say, through Breguet’s extensive artisanship and expertise, the Marine Haute Joaillerie 9509 Poseidonia is an exquisite reflection of the fascinating natural beauty of the oceans.
Piaget’s Limelight Gala High Jewellery Black Opal
Piaget’s Limelight Gala High Jewellery Black Opal is a stunning one-of-a-kind high-jewellery creation featuring a dial fitted with a rare and precious black opal. Mind you, black opals are fascinating as they reflect a myriad of bright colours – from yellow, green, blue and orange to red – when they catch the light. Uniquely, the colours depend on the structure of the stone and also the angle and brightness of the light. Thus, the watch’s appearance will constantly change before our eyes. To top it off, the addition of 86 brilliant-cut blue sapphires and a colourful array of marquise-cut coloured gemstones that start with 58 sapphires create a jewel that celebrates the best of the Earth’s treasures.
Grand Seiko’s Masterpiece Collection Spring Drive 8 Days Jewelry Watch
For its 60th anniversary, Grand Seiko created the Masterpiece Collection Spring Drive 8 Days Jewelry Watch, whose design takes inspiration from tiny ice crystals that shimmer on a cold morning in the Shinshu region. The Japanese brand magically highlights the tones of the aforementioned morning with 96 diamonds and 25 blue sapphires on the dial. More importantly, the diamonds act as minute markers and blue sapphires designate each hour so that the time can be read at a glance. Without doubt, its dazzling dial with “diamond dust” texture marks it out as one of the most precious works of art yet created by Grand Seiko.
