The maison reopened its doors to clients and visitors after several months of renovations.
Cartier’s boutique at Plaza Indonesia has completed renovations on September 14. Located on the first floor of Plaza Indonesia, the redesigned boutique artfully captures local aesthetics, as warm hues and elegant patterns inspired by Indonesian heritage encapsulate the space.
The modern interior, with its clean and spacious look, definitely echoes Cartier’s elegance and luxury. Inside, the boutique is divided into two interconnected areas: one “feminine” and the other “masculine.” The former includes a cream-coloured elements with gold patina, a glittering modern chandelier, and a remarkable bas-relief wall that portrays the iconic Cartier Panthère, which is surrounded by volcanic mountains and broadleaf evergreen forests. This exotic scenery – that recalls some of Indonesia’s most famous natural sights – further accentuates the Indonesian feel of the store. It is, in essence, a clever way of collaborating traditional motives into the interior design of the whole store.
Meanwhile, the “masculine” area features a warmer ambience with a darker palette. It also showcases collections that continuously appears on the wall as a digital display – which is the first and only digital iconography display in Southeast Asia – giving visitors a modern and contemporary impression of Cartier’s creations.
Moving on, the new boutique also has a discrete VIP room that invites clients to relax and admire the maison’s timepieces with extra privacy and comfort. To top it off, the VIP room is decorated with rattan-inspired wall lines and furniture that’s upholstered with fabrics that mimic batik patterns.
All in all, with a modern as well as elegant style and a touch of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, Cartier’s new boutique successfully showcases luxury at the core of the brand.
