Bill Bensley designed the newly opened Rosewood Luang Prabang, which Rosewood bills as “the first luxury haven in ancient Laos”. The resort is a 10-minute drive from Luang Prabang, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Bensley has woven Lao tradition and French colonial style throughout the resort, using indigenous materials and locally inspired artworks. The resort offers 23 spacious accommodations, including three Riverside Villas, six Waterfall Pool Villas and six Hilltop Tents. The bar and restaurant serve French and Laotian cuisine. In 2014, Japan’s Hoshino Resorts celebrated the 100th anniversary of the opening of its first property, in Nagano. The company has now opened its first resort in Bali. Located in Ubud, Hoshinoya Bali has 30 villas that provide private, luxury residences for guests.
