Recently named as the number one luxury brand in the world according to the annual Kadence Luxury Index 2018, Cartier continues to expand its presence in Europe with the launch of a brand new boutique in the stylish Swedish capital of Stockholm. Regarded as one of the most desirable makers of fine jewellery and timepieces in the world, this latest chapter in the French luxury brand’s 171-year-old history resides in the tongue-twisting pedestrian shopping district known as Smålandsgatan which is also home to international luxury brands Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

As a tribute to its glamorous new address, the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers has decided to decorate its newfound home with interiors that reference the minimalistic beauty of Scandinavian culture and design. Officially open from 8th November onwards, first-time visitors to the boutique will be greeted by a main lounge decorated with light grained oak wood reminiscent of the simplicity, beauty and purity of traditional wooden cabins that reside in the peaceful forests that sit just outside the capital; and calming hits of blue meant to evoke the Stockholm archipelago where Lake Mälaren, the third-largest freshwater lake in Sweden, meets with the great Baltic Sea.

Those in search for Cartier’s extraordinary diamond creations will also be pleased to learn that the boutique houses a separate section dedicated to its finest statement pieces. Decorated in white wood paired with beige carpeting, every single detail within this serene and luminous space is specifically designed to provide an immersive experience of buying jewellery. Serving as a backdrop to all this is the iconic Cartier Panthère motif carved in bas-relief on a large wooden panel. An integral part of the brand’s identity since the late 1940s, this charming motif appears as though it is standing guard over the beautiful city of Stockholm.
