In less than a year, Sofia at the Gunawarman has become the city’s go-to spot for elegant dining. Serving French, Italian and Western cuisine with Indonesian-approved taste, the South Jakartan restaurant is looking East for Chinese New Year. Throughout the festive season on January 27 to February 12, Sofia serves an array of contemporary Chinese delicacies.

Golden Afternoon Tea

Served at 2-6 PM daily, the afternoon tea for two features savoury and sweet treats for two. Highlights include Beef Cheek Puffs, Mushroom Spring Rolls with Black Truffles, Shanghai Chicken Steam Buns, Egg Tarts and Mango Pomelo Pudding. The package is priced at IDR 350,000++. 

Prosperity Duck Dinner

While the crispy roast duck has enjoyed its global popularity, it’s a different story with Cantonese Roast Duck. The unique menu features light soya broth that soaks through the duck meat, making the flesh sweet and savoury. The half-duck portion for two is served with Hainanese rice, ginger soup and (a very, very addictive) duck dumpling. The menu is priced at IDR375,000++.

Lunar New Year Hampers

With salted egg-everything making a buzz around town, there is no better time to send a basket full of flaky, mini salted egg croissants. East meets West indeed! The hamper can be ordered from Janyary 23 to February 12 and priced at IDR350,000++.
