This January, the Hermitage Jakarta successfully held a Launching event “Taste Of Malaysia” on Thursday, 16 January 2020 at The Courtyard Café. The event was presented by the professional and very talented Chef from Malaysia, Ahmad Affiq. He is currently Sous Chef at The Westin Desaru Coast Resort, Malaysia.
The Courtyard Café already has a chic design while the all-glass style sanctuary was specially decorated to host this Launching Event. Attended by Malaysian Embassy for Indonesia, the event commenced at 7 p.m. and was attended by 50 invited guests on that night. Chef Ahmad Affiq prepared several authentic Malaysian Dishes from Appetizer to Dessert. In collaboration with the The Hermitage Jakarta’s team, Chef Ahmad Affiq present an Buffet menus which includes appetizers such as “Kerabu Udang Galah”, and “Pais Ikan Sambal Portugis”, while “Nasi Lemak”, and “Laksa Johor” be your main course to choose. Chef Ahmad Affiq also present the famous Malaysian dessert “Sago Gula Melaka” and “Kuih Lopes”.
Opened with remarks from Mr. Severin Huerlimann, General Manager of The Hermitage Jakarta and Mr. Roslan Othman, Director of Malaysia Tourism for Jakarta, the event was running very well. “we are very happy to work with another Marriott property to launch this Taste Of Malaysia promotion” said Mr. Severin Huerlimann.
In a quick moment Chef Ahmad Affiq shared about the value he wanted to bring through the food he presented. “The foods served are solemnly cooked not only to create the good taste, but also to have it last in your palate. The best ingredients were carefully chosen and while always kept in mind the presentation. The perfect dish is the blend of good taste in enticing presentation; that is what we are serving tonight, and what we will be serving on this promotion until 24th January 2020.”, said Chef Ahmad Affiq. Malaysian Traditional Dance and Live Cooking by the Chef himself rounded up the entertainment for this event.
