“Curiouser and curiouser,” is what Alice said as she embarked on an exciting journey into a mystical wonderland. And that might be exactly what guests will say when they explore a range of unconventional flavours at The Wonderarium. A true gastronomic adventure that not only aims to stimulate the senses but also amaze with its creations, this soirée unfolds over a series of four cocktail evenings. The acclaimed House of Martell and ‘fun’ dining restaurant Babe by Jeff Ramsey will host the first one on 14 and 15 June in Kuala Lumpur.
“The Wonderarium invites guests to broaden their gastronomic perspectives while going on an unexpected but edifying exploration of how we perceive and enjoy tastes,” said Sebastien Mouquet, managing director of Pernod-Ricard Malaysia. “Everything about this event encourages guests to surrender to their curiosity; to see the unseen, feel what others don’t, and experience what others aren’t.”
The idea behind these socials is to offer a multi-sensory, interactive experience through a specially designed array of experimental cocktails and canapés. And since the theme of the first Wonderarium gathering is Umami and Smoke savors, get ready to be surprised, delighted and yes, possibly, even confused by this unusual combination.
One of the finest cognacs of all times, the lusciously fruity Martell VSOP Aged in Red Barrel will form the base of each of the exquisite beverages. And these will be served alongside accompaniments that highlight their individual flavours — complementary or contrasting Japas (Japanese-styled tacos) by Michelin-starred Chef Ramsey. Throughout this interactive culinary journey, Chef Ramsey will also be personally guiding small groups of guests to his trunk or food station to sample his selection of mind-opening and very innovative fare.
The first Wonderarium cocktail social is now open for reservations. Priced at MYR280 (including taxes) per pax, the menu includes nine courses of tapas and three creative cocktails.
