Better than dinner on the couch: a 360° motion-sensitive immersive dining experience — with a side of Hennessy. In partnership with Tapestry Malaysia and Chef James Won, the House of Hennessy presents an exclusive dinner at Enfin by James Won.
So, what can you expect? A 5-course menu designed to awaken all the senses with an intense array of scents, textures, aromas and flavours. It’s the first of its kind in the country.
The experience is set within a private room surrounded by a 360° projection of different landscapes around Malaysia. To go with each scenery, a complementing dish is presented. You won’t need to close your eyes to savour the different tastes, but you will need to keep your ears open for various sounds and accompanying music for each scene. Blink and you might even miss the flowers on the table that bloom with the touch of your fingers.
As with any dinner — immersive or not — the menu takes centre stage. Featuring locally sourced ingredients, every plate is created in honour of Malaysia. Each dish is paired with a handpicked selection of Moët-Hennessy’s champagnes, wines and cognacs.
The courses are referred to as “scenes”. Just like a movie, everyone has their favourite scenes. Scene three is where things got really interesting; lobster, caviar and vegetable roulade in lobster bisque. And to go with it, a glass of Terrazas de los Andes Reserva Chardonnay. The cleanser (intermission) is another standout; yogurt and olive oil ice cream, kumquat, capeberry and w.asabi. But the award of the night goes to the dessert, a flaming coconut bombe Alaska, durian parfait glace, and 70% single origin dark cacao sponge, served with a peg of Hennessy XO.
“The secret to making this dining experience truly immersive is how we use technology as a way to tell a new story. It’s a theatrical production but on an entirely different platform, were food plays a leading role in this new form of artistic expression,” states Chef Won. “From the tropical forest to the majestic oceans and calming highlands, covering flavors that are truly Malaysian at the core. Connecting diverse backgrounds and multi-racial ethnicities with food.”
Limited to 16 seats per session, the 5-course menu will be priced at RM999+ (with alcohol pairing) and RM790+ (without alcohol pairing) per person. Reservations are available via TABLEAPP, the official reservation partner of Tapestry Malaysia.
