It’s a birdcage, it’s a sliver birdcage, it’s a new way to enjoy high tea! This month, Raffles Jakarta launches its seasonal afternoon tea menu for winter. Curated by Chef Daniel Patterson and his culinary team, the new menu features a new way of serving.
The tea time treats are plated and stacked inside a silver birdcage, to then be hung by the table. This makes for a nice visual treat and for sure, an Instagram-worthy tea time. It is only apt that the afternoon tea session is held inside the Writers Bar, a vibrant space that was first created (and now some kind of an institution) at Raffles Singapore. The Jakarta rendition features prominent artworks by Hendra Gunawan.
Highlights from the winter afternoon tea include Mini Beef Cheek & Marmite Pie, Cinnamon Scones, Apple & Cinnamon Strudel with Mascarpone Cheese and Dundee Dried Fruit Cake. The treats are accompanied with coffee or TWG tea, and are priced at IDR 350,000++ for two.
