The much-anticipated restaurant, Vong Kitchen, has finally opened in Alila SCBD Hotel. The 162-seat New York grill style restaurant is created by one of the world’s most celebrated chefs, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and his son, Cédric Vongerichten.
Chef and restaurateur Jean-Georges led a culinary evolution of French food in New York in 1980s. His Michelin-starred restaurant in New York, Jean-Georges, has been hailed as one of the best French restaurants in America. Now, he expands his culinary empire to Indonesia with the help of his son, Cédric, who led Vong Kitchen.
Cédric himself is a notable 37-year-old chef, who graduated from Culinary Institue of America. His stints, include Berkeley Hotel London, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and El Bulli in Barcelona. He grew up in his father’s kitchen in Lafayette, New York and began his career at the age of 17.
The stylish Vong Kitchen was designed by Rockwell Group. It features an open kitchen with a warm atmosphere. “Excellence in creating world-class cuisine has always been our focus. I want to use local produce to create quality food consistently, while inspired by beloved local flavours. My father and I will be serving up the most exemplary dishes to Jakarta’s most discerning diners at Vong Kitchen,” says Cédric.

The Creamy Burrata
A fresh appetizer served with lemon jam, basil, and olive oil.
Roasted Wild Mushrooms
A must for mushroom lovers. Comprises of the finest mushrooms with pine nut, pecorino cheese, and a sherry vinaigrette sauce.
Rice Cracker Crusted Tuna
Served with Sriracha-citrus emulsion and scallions.
Pizza topped with black truffles, egg, and a blend of three kinds of cheese.
