March to April’s beauty beat, which is all about taking it back to basics. Skincare, healthy hair, and fresh spring-inspired makeup are highlights this month, with formulas designed to honour nature and be kind to our bodies. Take a look at what we’re getting seconds of:
Hands up if you’ve just about had it with pulling out your eyelashes while trying (and failing) to completely remove your mascara. This primer may not be designed for that, but it scoops up a handful of benefits as it creates a protective coat over the lashes. In a creamy formula packed with peptide and Vitamin B5, it also works as an overnight mask by itself when it’s not giving your lashes a fuller, falsie-inspired look when paired with your favourite mascara.
New York City-based fashion designer Ulla Johnson has collaborated with Bobbi Brown to create a line of cute new cosmetics. Each palette containing sheer blushes, creamy highlighters, shimmery pastel eyeshadows and lip colours is named after Johnson’s favourite heroines and muses. The range features soft shades to create a very natural look, but the lips are kept bold with corals, made up of the Minou Eye Palette, MYR190; Extra Lip Tint, MYR118 each, Cheek Palette, MYR170; and Crushed Lip Colour, MYR97.
You’ve heard essential oils are good for your hair, so imagine a cocktail of five essential oils doing great things. These are cedar, lavender, chamomile, lemon and eucalyptus, and oil derived from three types of olives. Lock it in your tresses for a good 10 minutes in the shower twice a week, and you should see a good difference in no time.
Unlike a skincare regimen, switching up your haircare every now and then keeps things fresh — literally. OGX has been one of those salon-inspired brands we’ve never paid much attention to, but we’re giving it two thumbs up this month. The range of shampoos and conditioners includes the signature Renewing+ Argan Oil of Morocco collection, eucalyptus and mint, as well as marula oil. Bonus: they smell amazing!
