A tale of hoops and hope.
“Even if basketball looks different for a while, I’m excited about the possibility of getting back in the game, because I know how inspiring and powerful sports can be. I think the lessons we learn from sport can inspire us all,” LeBron James shared.
As the world slowly reveals its new normal, sport is just one of the many areas seeing a rebirth. Through the times and challenges faced throughout the global crisis, and any tough odds faced worldwide before it, sport has always been an outlet for hope and strength.
Recognising the feeling of experiencing disbelief and celebrating wins, Nike extends its “You Can’t Stop Us” campaign to a new short film. The project is titled “Never Too Far Down” and is narrated by one of the greatest players in NBA history, LeBron James.
Set to be aired during Tiger Wood’s return to the golf course, the golfer who needs no introduction commented, “Sport can still be a positive force for so many people. I am looking forward to [the charity match] this weekend and creating a platform to raise money for Covid relief and hopefully remind folks of the levity and joy that golf and other sports can bring to the world.”
Serena Williams also shared her thoughts: “Sport is the one thing that’s true, it doesn’t matter what you look like, where you’re from. Everything is left out in the arena. For me, I put it all out there on the court as a player, but it also feels that way as a fan. You feel that joy when someone you’re rooting for wins. That’s because of the unity that sports bring us.”
